An Alternative for Your Child’s Education
Charis Christian Academy offers live instruction in a traditional classroom environment that utilizes an advanced curriculum developed by Abeka. Students are taught based on their individual abilities, which means we offer accommodations for any student that may be in need. Such accommodations may include extended test time, curriculum level adjustments for a student that may have fallen behind, as well as curriculum level adjustments for any student that may need to advance in order to remain academically challenged. Enrichment Programs While there is a strong emphasis on the core subjects of education (Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science), students are also involved in other enrichment programs such as Creative Arts & Life Skills, Music, Physical Education, Health, Bible, and Chapel. In addition, students in grades 7-12 may choose to participate in a Leadership opportunity - Student Council. The Student Council members play the role of liaison for the entire student body, meeting with the Board of Directors and the PTA to voice any suggestions or concerns, plan and facilitate activities for the students, and more. Such leadership has had a positive effect on the school and student body. Building Character and Promoting Integrity By far, one of the strongest skills that students at Charis gain is Character Building. When we say there is zero tolerance for bullying, we mean it! We promote compassion and kindness toward one another; and equip our students with tools to help them not only stand up for themselves, but to stand up for others. Not only do we desire for our students to grow academically, but that each one will feel celebrated as they grow in social development, self-confidence, and integrity. Above All, Love Our teachers are passionate about this program and their responsibility, not only in their role as educators, but also as role models and relationship models. They strive to exemplify love, as defined by 1 Corinthians 13, while challenging their students to rise up and do the same. |
